Info on Mercedez Smart car?

Whats the estimated mpg fuel economy? (I saw on a site that poeple have been getting only 32) Whats the price? (can you get one right away?) If the fuel economy is not so good, why get one? You can get a full size sedan that will avg. at least 34 mpg

  1. the estimated mpg for the Smart Fortwo is like 33/42 mpg. there's 3 different trims for the Fortwo. the Pure, Passion, and Passion Cabriolet. the Pure costs $11,590; the Passion costs around $13,000; and the Passion Cabriolet is around $16,000. you can't really get one right away. i went to a Smart dealer about a month ago, and they told me that if i ordered one then, i'd get it in a year. people just buy the Smart for the size. people who live in huge cities like New York, San Francisco, whatever, need the Smart so that they can park a lot easier, and so they can manuever between traffic easily. other people just buy it for fun, or because it's "cute"
  2. The Smart gets 41 highway and 33 city. There isn't a full size sedan anywhere in the U.S. that gets close to that mileage. The reason the Smart is so popular is because they are half the price of the Civic Hybrid and Prius. A smart is like $11,500 and the Civic is over $22K and the Prius is almost $24k. Smart cars are very hard to get. They don't make many and they sell very quick.
  3. the waiting list is 6 months to a year. they are not practical for Hwy driving. they are "the in thing" most popular if you just make short trips or do limited city driving otherwise not worth the money.
