Eco Rebates In Canada/Ontario?
So im looking around to buy a car and the smart car was raised by a friend of mine, he went on about how it was a safe car and how much gas it saves and all that, but both he and I are unsure of how much money you get back from the government. If anyone knows how much the Federal government gives back and if the Provincial government gives any rebates as well can you post it! Thanks Will P.S. I am aware that the Prius has better MPG

- Looks like the Smart Fortwo can get a $2000CDN rebate: http://www.tc.gc.ca/programs/environment/ecotransport/2008ecoautoeligibility.htm Hope this helps.
- The Canadian government, through the ecoAUTO program of Transport Canada, offers a rebate of $2000 for the purchase or 12+month lease of a new 2006 - 2008 Toyota Prius or 2006 Mercedes-Benz Smart Fortwo CDI Coupe or Cabriolet (Diesel models) or 2008 Smart ForTwo (Coupe or Convertible). See see http://www.ecoaction.gc.ca/ecoauto/ and http://www.tc.gc.ca/programs/environment/ecotransport/eligiblevehicles.htm for more info. Additionally, ON offers a RST rebate of up to $2000 for a Toyota Prius. http://www.rev.gov.on.ca/english/refund/vpaf/
