Anyone own a "smart car" are they worth it?

For nonwork I am looking at one, but right now they have a waiting list. Still they have crazy good gas mileage and only 12k

1. Yes! They are very good and safer than regular cars if you ever get in a crash.

3. I thought they cost up around 20K. But i guess im wrong. Regardless, i found this crash test video on youtube. They slammed one into a wall at 70mph, the car was absolutely destroyed, but the interior-passenger compartment seemed to actually hold up quite well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJHpUO-S0i8
