3. Depends what you're looking for. I own a 2004 Mazda 3. Last car I thought I'd buy, but I like it. It provides sporty looks and handling, while also keeping the insurance lower. It has the optional 2.3 litre I4 engine (the base engine is a 2.0 litre). The 2.3 provides more "punch", but when you ground the throttle body it becomes even more responsive. Fuel economy I think is mid 20's for city, and is low 30's for highway. All in all, it really depends how you drive.
