  1. They're small and overpriced. I could get a Nissan Versa with more room and 4 doors for less money.
  2. theyre a waste of money
  3. i think the car is only useful if u live in a cramped city otherwise dont get one unless ur gonna drop a GSXR engine in it
  4. Actually, they are not new at all. They've been available in Europe for over 10 years and in Canada for 5. I first drove one of these while vacationing in Italy about 6 or 7 years ago and I have a driven a few more since then. They are actually surprisingly roomy inside, even for a 6 footer like myself. Performance is not bad even with the 48hp Diesel (not available in the US). The only downsides are an obvious lack of trunk space (duh!) and a steering that does not return, but has to be accompanied back to the straight-ahead position. A little disconcerting at first, but you soon get used to it. Safety-wise, there are no worries. This car easily passes all safety tests anywhere in the world, including the US. The rest of the world figured out a long time ago that small cars can be designed to be very safe, it's about time that US drivers understood this and abandonned their ridiculously wasteful suv's and started buying smaller, more efficient cars.
  5. There is the Smart Fortwo, the 2 seater. Smart Forfour, the 4 seater. Smart Roadster, the 2 seat sports car convertible. The Smart Fortwo did get great crash test results because the of shape of the body. The boxy designs and smaller frames are safer. But they are very unreliable cars and expensive to maintain. They use Premium gas only. The Smarts that came out in the U.S. in 2008 came out in Europe in 1998. They are old designs, old technology, get bad gas mileage for the size, and very slow and underpowered. It is a bad car.
